Alberto Oviedo
Alberto's journey began before he did – in Cuba, where his grandparents and mother were born. During the Cuban Revolution, they migrated to Colombia, but never abandoned their strong Cuban morals and work ethic. Alberot's attention to detail he owes to his grandfather, but it was his mother who gave him his first camera. It was thanks to her incredible amount of support he was able to move to the U.S. in 1999 to become a professional photographer.
After Photo School, he got his first break in the photography business when, without any experience, he landed a job as a full-time assistant for Jim Fiscus. While working with Jim he learned much about the industry, both on and off the set. More importantly, he learned to be humble and to treat everyone around him with the respect they deserve. He left Jim’s studio after three years, with a lot of knowledge, great friends, and a strong portfolio – which allowed him to start building a client list.
Throughout his journey he has been fortunate to work with athletes, models, new faces, old faces, celebrities, cultures and colors, finding new inspiration in each project. As for where this path is going to take him, he likes to think he's working on it as we speak.
